“The hip-hop scene in Jamaica has been steadily growing over the past couple years and two of the major players in the game have joined forces for a super collaboration “Aww Snap”. The song, which appears on Nomad Carlos’ newly released mixtape “Me Against The Grain”, was produced by Polish native The Patents and resulted from a longstanding musical relationship between the two.”

Kingston, Jamaica resident Nomad Carlos presents the Board-directed music video for his Natural High Muzik-produced new single “As Real As It Gets”. Born in Miami and raised in Kingston from the age of 5, Carlos has dropped several albums and performed relentlessly in Jamaica, proudly flying the flag for hip-hop in a country dominated by dancehall and reggae. “This is an ongoing struggle I go through in my own country,” he says. “Gatekeepers to the music industry turn a blind eye to the local Hip Hop community. But I think I have the ability to give a new outlook within the content of Hip Hop music, as I have lived a different life in Jamaica.” Early this year, Nomad released Live From Yard, hosted by DJ Ill Will & DJ Rockstar. Carlos’ next mixtape, Me Against The Grain, is set for a fall release.
