New joint from Def Dee. Check it out.

Seattle producer Def Dee signed a development deal with MMG a little over a year ago and was given access to the vaults. His task was to produce a full length album weaving together new songs, fresh instrumentals and a few remixes with new verses. The result is “33 and a Third”, a compilation in thirds.

Pre-order 33 and A Third here.

A.Dd+ – Where You Been?

Actually I was gonna ask where A.Dd+ was at, cause I haven’t posted anything from them in a minute, but they’re back. Check it out.

“If you ain’t fuck wit’ me then, then don’t fuck wit’ me now.” As the refrain rings through the hook of A.Dd+’s new track “Where You Been,” one can’t help but recognize how far the Dallas hip-hop duo has come and admit, “Dayam. They have a point.” Their claim to have “put Dallas on the map” is legitimate-they have graced the cover of the Dallas Observer, taken home “Best Group Act” and “Best Rap Act” at the Observer’s 2012 Music Awards, and sold out Dallas’ legendary Granada Theater this past January. Their profile has spread nationally as well: they have toured with the likes of Black Milk and Erykah Badu, have been named to Pitchfork’s Underrated Rap Releases of 2011, and were declared one of Spin’s “5 Artists to Know” in May 2012. Produced by DJ Burn One, “Where You Been?” sets the tone for A.Dd+’s upcoming project #DiveHiFlyLo, which is scheduled for release later this year. Parris Pershun discusses how Burn One’s production fit like a glove: “The song beat describes how we feel at this point.” Slim agrees, musing, “Burn One’s style is the perfect mix between new southern production and old school south, which is the exact style we have.”

Devine Carama let’s loose the bonus track off his new project No Child Left Behind, which is slated to drop next week, June 28th. I’m looking forward to that joint. Check it out.

“I just wanted to be real open and honest on this one. Seems like music today is attempting to try and convince the people how good an artist’s life is as oppose to the music just being a true reflection of whatever an artists’ life is, good or bad. The song is a double entendre.. I’m “reflecting” on my life while also looking at my reflection in the mirror and seeing who I truly am. Realist jawn I ever wrote..”
